Lately...

Hope you are doing great. Things have been good and a little hectic over here...

A ton of my attention right now is going towards gearing up for PiNK's winter Bible study. Whooo!!! Trust me...when I can tell more, I will. It's coming soon.

I joined a boot camp last week. Oh my! And when I tell you it's insane, I'm not lying. I literally was sore all last week. Everyday. It is a good sore though. I'm so thankful for friends doing it with me. They are amazing and so encouraging. Thankful for them. My friend started this boot camp 2 years ago and I'm so thankful she made that decision.

Another "lately" over here is we joined a community group at our church, BCF. It's so great. I love that they meet every week. That way you can actually connect and get to know one another. It's hard to do that when it's just every other week or once a month. I'm so excited to get to know these people more, study God's Word together, serve our community/world as a group, and just to do life with them.

The women's Bible study I'm teaching right now is just a pure blast. I don't think I could love these women any more. They are a true joy in my life. Studying the scriptures together each week just creates a sweet bond like nothing else. We just wrapped up the Duty or Delight study and are now getting into the Living Free study by Beth Moore. It's about learning to pray God's Word. Oh how this is going to rock!!

One of my (amazingly organized) friends told me about erincondren.com a couple of weeks ago. If you know me, you know -
1. I love EVERYTHING personalized. I just do.
2. I love organization. I like everything to have a place...not saying it does - but I like everything to. :)
Therefore, my friend showed me erin condren's planners. They are crazy cute and personalized. I knew immediately I needed to get one. :) So after picking my design, entering my coupon code (my sweet friend gave me), and personalizing it...it was in the process of being shipped to me.
I won't lie - I was checking it like crazy to see the process of it getting to me. Seeing the words "shipped" on the site and the delivery date being Saturday - I was EXCITED!!

Last Saturday morning the door bell rang bright and early, and I was immediately awake because I knew what was at the door.

Don't you just love the box?!?

Wrapped in pink tissue. They don't even know that's my love language! :)

TaDa! Love it!

Now it's being used and filled with fun dates, parties, and goodness.

Last week Julia (one of PiNK's summer interns - you can read about her here) was in town and wanted to catch up...I was like, of course!!! She called me a week or so out and let me know she was coming and to put her on my schedule...LOVE LOVE LOVE those calls from the girls.

We spent many hours over coffee laughing, crying, and talking about everything. Perfect way to spend Saturday afternoon.

Weekend Wrap!!

This weekend was filled with goodness.

Friday was spent with my Mom. She has been out of town for a week and we didn't get to talk much while she was gone. It was amazing getting to catch up and hang out.

We have a thing called "Fantastic Fridays". Kinda corny, but we love it. Basically it's our time together. We do lunch and something fun (typically shop...yeah). Early on before we got really busy in ministry, we made a choice to have a designated time together and now it's the best and we both look forward to it all week.

While we were out shopping, my Momma got me a new cookbook. We both love to cook and each year we get the new Southern Living Christmas Cookbook. So many good things in there.

We alternate on who plans each Friday. The person who is in charge of that week plans where we go to lunch and what we do afterwards.

My mom is crazy busy...probably more than me. She is super artistic and she uses it all for God's Kingdom. She is currently writing a book, writing and directing a Women's Holiday mini production, writing material on mentorship for a new church program, and starting a Christian Broadway-type theatre...therefore, you can say she's busy.

My man and I were home a ton on Saturday which was good since we had a busy Sunday. Did the whole house thing and then relaxed. I love those days!

Sunday was packed. Kicking off with church (which you know is my fav). I look forward to church all week. We are learning about Peter right now, and I'm always so bummed when our Pastor wraps it up...I'm like, let's go for another hour!

After church, I headed home for a quick lunch and then was off to a baby shower to celebrate a friend's new addition to the family.

After the shower, I went home, picked up my man, and we headed to a kick-off party for our church's first Community Groups. We met a ton of new people that I'm excited to study God's Word and do life with at Bayou City. I'm just praying I remember all these peoples' names next week. (I'm terrible with names...I can remember a face though).

Summer Bible Study...part 2

If you missed part one of summer blog - you can check it out here.

The first 2 weeks of the study, we did a lot of laying the foundation...then building on top of that for the next 5 weeks.

After week 2 it was very obvious we had no more room in the current place we were meeting and had to change locations. It was an awesome God-thing and also a big stretch and transition for PiNK's staff. So thankful for the girls and the girls' parents being so flexible during all the transitioning. The whole growth enchilada was a complete God thing - nothing any man could ever do. That alone is what made it so amazing.

In the following weeks of the study we focused on: what's keeping us from sharing our faith with others, why we don't need to conform to this world but yet stand firm in God and His promises, going and making disciples, and knowing God has a purpose for us.

To say God moved would be a complete understatement. God was stirring a new passion in the girls, the leaders, staff, and definitely in me for a new hunger and longing for Him.

Girls learned what they were hoarding and how to give it over to God. Some made commitments to follow God. They make choices to no longer keep flirting with the world but seek/run after God alone.

On the last day of the Bible study some of the girls got up and shared their stories on how God moved in their lives during this series of Hoarders. It was just such a sweet time of bonding. Tears were shed, laughter was definitely to be seen, hugs were given, and the love for each other was so deep.

I'm so thankful for this past summer. Just like I started this by saying it was one for the books... this past summers' chapter may be closed, but the book is not finished being written. I know God has so much more up His sleeve and I can't wait to see how it unfolds.

Here are some more pics from this past summer Bible study:

Weekend Wrap!!

This weekend it actually felt like fall in Houston. It was so refreshing.

I was able to put out some fall decorations this weekend. I can't believe the next time I put out some seasonal decor will be for Christmas. (Which I'll be putting up next month because I love having Christmas set up for a long time, but don't worry... I take it down the day after Christmas).

I love reading. I was able to dig into some good books this weekend.

Worked on Bible study for the women's class I'm studying with right now. I'm just LOVING this class. They are amazing. Complete Jesus Freaks and I'm loving it. We are truly just having a blast together Wednesday mornings.

Of course my favorite part of the weekends: Church. I love our church! Bayou City Fellowship is a complete blessing and a true answer to prayer for my man and I. And let me tell ya, Pastor Curtis was fired up...it was just flat out amazing! I was telling my Momma that each week I leave thinking it can't get any better to just return the following week and be blown away. I'm tellin ya...God is doing amazing things at BCF.

Can't forget football. Now that football season is here that definitely takes it's time in our weekends now. My man is very passionate about his teams. He's constantly talking. People who think he doesn't speak much (now, he is quieter than me... but most are) should watch a game with him or just ask him about football. He has opinions and comments on every play. I find it hysterical and quite entertaining.

Any day I have a glue gun in my hands is a good day. Haha! I love craft time. I was able to finish up these letters for my office this weekend and love them. I have a craft table in my office and use it often for spreading out books to do research for Bible study, making cards, gifts, it always has something on it.

I just had to share this with y'all. I think this is hysterical. I finally got a picture of this. This is one of my Boston's, Sadie. When she sits...she sits on her knees. Honestly. When my man and I first saw this, we freaked out... I thought she broke her leg. Nope. That's just who she is. (Please excuse the towel she is sitting on by the back door. Used it to wipe her feet when she came in after it rained.)

Music Monday!!

This week I'm highlighting:

Band: Hillsong United

Song: Shout Unto God

This song doesn't need much of an introduction. It's just amazing. Y'all already know my passion for Hillsong and this song is unbelievable!

These peoples' hunger and cry to God is just beautiful. I LOVE it!!
Have an awesome Monday!
