FIRST Summer Bible Study ANNOUNCEMENT!

Can you believe summer is around the corner? It's going to be here before we know it. I know God has some great things in store for this summer...He's been talking to me for a while on what He has up His sleeve for summer Bible Study....and let me tell ya - it's going to be AWESOME!

This summer, we are going to be kicking off on Tuesday, June 7th and will go for 7 Tuesday nights. Therefore, we will end on Tuesday, July 19th.

If you are not familiar with PiNK Bible Study - it's a non-denominational Bible Study for girls 6th grade-college. It's a great time of fellowship, fun, games, food, and digging into God's Word.

I love studying God's Word with the girls. It's my heart and passion to see these girls get ahold of God's Word, apply it to their lives, share His love and truth, and make Jesus famous!!!

So if you are or know a girl 6th grade - college, join us on Tuesday nights this summer for a great time studying God!

King's Cake

My Mom made a homemade King's Cake....and let me tell you it was glorious! Now when I said she made it - I mean she made the dough and all from scratch. She is a fabulous chef. My man and I have been telling her for years to open a restraunt.

I just had to share this with you...it was divine!

The Masterpiece! It didn't last long...it had a chocolate filling!

The chef and her masterpiece!

Happy with my cake!!

Weekend Wrap!

This past weekend was just wonderful!

On Friday - my man and I decided to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather...we packed a lunch (and some bread to feed the ducks) and headed to the lake. We loved getting outside and enjoying some peaceful time.

Feeding the ducks...

I love going on this journey of life with him...

Saturday - we did the house thing. We are spring cleaning to the max. Had several things around the house to do and I had to do some shopping!

Sunday - Happy Church Day!! Sunday's start super early for us and go all day! I love Sundays - going to God's House to worship Him with other believers and to hear God's Word delivered...it is just so exciting to me. On the way home from church that evening, my man and I made a stop at Connie's Custard. Let me tell you - they will definitely serve Connie's Custard in Heaven...

Donations!

I just want to start off and say I'm so grateful for those who give to PiNK!!! It's such a huge blessing! We honestly could not do what we do without you!!

After several people have asked how they can give - I've decided to add a link here on the right side of this blog to accept donations for PiNK.

It's because of these donations towards PiNK that allows us to reach this next generation of girls for Jesus!

Thank you so much for your love and support! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask at pinkministries@yahoo.com.

The Birdcage

You know how I love these guys....this message is so powerful. I'm so humbled and thankful He loves us - He loved us enough to die for our nasty/ugly sins.

So often we become immune to the subject and forget the powerful message that is spoken here. The mere fact that Jesus came into this world - perfect, sinless, and blameless...and DIED such a brutal and ugly death for our sins while we WERE STILL SINNERS. That should take your breath away - I am just in awe of my Savior today!!! So grateful. So thankful. So unworthy.

Romans 5:8 NIV - "But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Rodeo

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is nothing to joke about here in the dirty south. Cowboy hats, big hair, and wrangler jeans are a constant staple here in Texas, but during the Rodeo it seems to be more obvious.

The Houston Rodeo is filled with music, the carnival, everything you can think of being fried... and of course, down-right-good-home-cookin' BBQ that you can start smelling the second your car door opens in the parking lot. That's when you know it's good...

I love my southern roots to the fullest... this past year was my Grandaddy's 80th birthday. He loves being a Texan so much - he wanted a Texas themed birthday party. Therefore, we all put our Texas gear on and celebrated him. Thankfully these photos from the party just got restored...they had gotten damaged. Wanted to share a few with you...

Here are a few others I took of my man and I...

Girl Scout Cookies

I have an honest love/hate relationship with Girl Scout Cookies. Thankfully they only come around once a year, but when they do, my man and I feel the need to Y2K stock pile til next year...which is easy to do since they are at the entrance of every local grocery store. And how can you say no to those faces?

Those Caramel Delights don't have a chance in my house. They are both my man and I's favorites - so we each get a box and of course we don't share!

I personally was a Girl Scout. It's actually quite humorous thinking of me and my personality in the same sentence as a Girl Scout. We did attempt camping one time.. and we all ended up back in the A/C. My man on the other hand is a full out Eagle Scout.

Believe it or not - I will camp...but there are strings attached to that statement. Being the fact we are in the dirty south with humidity beyond belief (Praise God because we won't wrinkle as bad) - I can not even think of camping in the summer. Texas definition of summer: between mid May-September maybe even October. In the cooler months, I don't mind braving the wilderness. Trust me: it is an adventure when you mix me and the outdoors together.

Back to the cookies - I sure do love them but I sure do love when they are gone.

The Lost Get Found!!!

I just love this video. Those who have accepted Jesus Christ into their lives don't get the option of whether we want to share the Gospel of Jesus or not. Jesus told us to go out and preach the Gospel (Mark 16:15). We were each created with special giftings and talents but there is one thing we all have in common - He has commanded each of us to - GO AND TALK ABOUT HIM!!

The devil loves to lie to us and tell us we will look stupid, or we don't know enough to share anything about God, and continue to beat us up by keeping our mouths shut so we don't share God's Word and the Truth of who He really is. But it's the Truth that will set people free.

I want to encourage you to speak, share, talk, and shout about Jesus to others. Start praying and asking God to bring people in your life who need to know Him and to give you the opportunity to share His Word!

I'm loving seeing this generation of young people rise above what they think, feel, or even what others think and share the Gospel of Jesus. They are chasing after God more than people's approval. They aren't afraid to stand up for their LORD. Because when we're able to get past ourselves and share God's love - that is how the lost will get found.

25 Random Things About Me - Part 2

25 Random Things About Me - Part 2

12. Starbucks is my love language. I love my coffee. There is just not much else to say... first step is admitting, right?

13. I love plants. Especially growing Orchids. I haven't had a green thumb for the longest time... so much so my Mom and I each got these air plants that only needed oxygen to survive. Not water or even sun - just oxygen. My Mom's bloomed with the most beautiful flower (didn't even know they did bloom). And mine died. Seriously - didn't have a green thumb for anything. Then I just got a passion for growing Orchids. They are just so beautiful to me. Out of that grew my passion for plants and growing flowers. March has to be one of my favorite months just for the given fact of planting - and yes, I go by the Farmers Almanac on good planting days.

14. I always want to sip my drinks through a straw... I don't care if I'm at home and it's just water...I love it.

16. I don't wear white after Labor Day and before Easter. I love etiquette to the fullest measure. I was raised with the complete Southern Woman etiquette and I love it... you would have thought my Granny wrote the book, but I honestly just love every bit of it. Proper place settings, proper manners, what to and not to wear. Most people think it's silly, but I am one of those who will be passing down proper etiquette to my children.

18. I've known my husband for over half my life. We met when we were kids - one of my favorite things about us. We will get to know more about the beginning of "us" in another blog to come soon.

19. Even though I'm no longer in school - when August rolls around I still feel the need to buy school supplies. It just makes me happy to have new notebooks, pens, and highlighters.

21. Hair Model. I was asked after High School to become a hair model for an upscale hair product. It was a lot of fun and I enjoyed all the new and cutting edge hair cuts.

22. Retainer - I still wear my first retainer at night. It's lime green and glows in the dark. It's the first one I ever got and it's been with me now for 12 years.

23. I could spend countless hours in LifeWay Bookstore. I just love looking at all the books, devotionals, resources, and whatever else I can find. Thankful for such a wonderful and God honoring bookstore.

24. I always start listening to Christmas music before Thanksgiving. And if it wasn't for my man, I would start listening to it in July.

25. I love classic movie musicals!!! Rodgers and Hammerstein are some of my all time favorites movie producers (some of you are googling who that even is). State Fair, Sound of Music, and Cinderella are my absolute favs, but don't fool yourself into thinking I don't have them all. And of course, I sing along to every song in every movie (which my man just loves..haha). I genuinely love old movies.
